Why we're building it

Two things every serious player says.

“I know I need to get better. I just don't know what I'm actually doing wrong.”

The most common thing we heard

What changes

You stop guessing. Your clip gets broken down the way an academy coach would break it down — the cause, not a description of what happened. Not “your touch was heavy.” Why it was heavy, and what you did three seconds earlier that made it heavy.

“I train all the time. I have no idea if I'm training the right thing.”

The second most common thing

What changes

Every drill you get exists because of something that happened in your video — not because it's next in a library. Then you film it again and find out whether it worked. Your practice finally has a scoreboard.

How it works

Three steps. Then it repeats.

01 — UPLOAD

Five seconds of you playing.

One shot that didn't curve. One touch that got away. One 1v1 you lost. The mistake is usually over in a second — that's all we need to see. Film it on a phone from the side of you, whole body in frame. Longer clips work too, but short and specific gets sharper coaching.

02 — GET COACHED

Ask, or let it find it.

Ask your own question — or say nothing and let it find the problem. It reads your technique, body position, decisions and execution — outfield or in goal — then tells you what to change and why it costs you.

03 — KEEP GOING · THE PART THAT MATTERS

Every problem becomes a Skill you train.

Do the drills. Film it again. Your coach opens the same Skill, compares the new clip to the last one, and tells you what actually improved and what didn't. It never starts from zero — and it never gives you the same feedback twice.

The breakdown

This is what comes back.

Not just a score. Not a highlight reel. The moment where it went wrong, why it went wrong, and the exact change that fixes it.

Am I doing something wrong here?
Tacto · Analysis

Your first touch is taking you into pressure, not away from it. You're receiving square to the field with your hips closed — so by the time the ball arrives, the only option left is back the way it came.

What to fix
  • Open your hips before the ball arrives, not after
  • Scan over your left shoulder as the pass is played
  • Cushion the touch across your body, away from the defender

The difference

Not just analysis.
A coach that remembers.

A chatbot can give you advice about first touch. It can't watch yours, and it has no idea what your left foot was doing three weeks ago. Most video analysis isn't much better — it ends the moment the feedback does. This is built the other way around.

Week 1

“Your first touch is consistently getting away from your body when you receive under pressure. You're arriving square to the field, so the ball has nowhere safe to go.”

Week 2

“Compared to your last clip, your touch is noticeably closer on your right side — you're opening up before the ball arrives now. It's still escaping when you receive on your left. Same cause, weaker foot.”

Week 3

“Both feet are under control now — that's two weeks of real progress. New problem, and it's a better one to have: your touch is clean, but you're not scanning before it arrives, so you're turning into trouble you could have seen.”

Personalized drills

Don't just know what's wrong.
Know how to fix it.

Every weakness becomes a training plan. Not a drill library you scroll through — drills that exist because of what happened in your clip, with the one thing you're supposed to be thinking about while you do them.

Drill 01

Receive, scan, escape

Purpose: get your first touch out of pressure instead of into it.

Focus on
  • Scan over your shoulder before the ball arrives
  • Open your hips to the field as the pass is played
  • Cushion the first touch into space, not at your feet
  • Second touch goes away from pressure, every rep
Built from Clip 01 · 0:14  ·  Skill: First touch
Drill 02

Shoulder check & commit

Purpose: stop turning into trouble you could have seen coming.

Focus on
  • Two shoulder checks before every ball reaches you
  • Decide where you're going before it arrives, not after
  • Back foot receives, front foot points where you're going
  • Film the last set — that's your next upload
Built from Week 3 clip  ·  Skill: Scanning

The standard

Coaching, not compliments.

Encouragement is easy and worth nothing. We're building this to be honest, specific, and occasionally uncomfortable — the way the best coach you've ever had was.

What you usually get
“Great job! Nice effort on the ball. Keep working hard and you'll get there!”

Tells you nothing. You already knew you were trying.

What we're building toward
“Your first touch is technically clean when you have time. But when pressure comes from your left, you receive square to the field, and your touch takes you straight into it. Start opening your hips before the ball arrives, and take the first touch across your body. That one change buys you the half-second you keep losing.”

Names the cause, the condition it happens under, and the change. That's the bar.

Who it's for

For players who actually want to get better.

  • Goalkeepers — properly, not as an afterthought
  • Academy and elite club players
  • High school players trying to make the next team
  • College players and walk-ons
  • Outfield players in every position
  • Anyone who trains alone and wants it to count

It doesn't matter what level you're at. If you can film yourself and you're willing to hear something you don't want to hear, the loop works the same way.

Your game provides the data.

The AI provides the coaching.

You provide the work.

We're not going to tell you this makes you a professional. It's a coach that sees every rep and remembers all of them. What you do with that is the actual variable.

Built by a goalkeeper

Every player gets coached here.
Keepers finally do too.

I'm a goalkeeper. For most of the time I've played, "individual training" meant an outfield coach shouting something generic while I dived around on my own afterwards. Most clubs don't have a keeper coach. The ones that do get them for an hour a week.

So Tacto knows what a set position should look like, why you're beaten low to your hand side, when your set step is late, and why you're spilling shots you should be holding. It gives you keeper drills you can actually do with a wall and one server — not outfield receiving patterns with the word "goalkeeper" pasted on top.

Keepers get specialist coaching.

Everyone else gets it too.

Nobody trains alone in the dark.

“You're set too tall. Your hands are inside your knees and your weight is back on your heels, so everything low to your right takes an extra step you don't have.”

Week 3

“Set position is much better — hands outside the knees, weight forward. Now the timing: your set step is landing after the strike instead of just before it, so you're still moving when the ball is hit.”
